Pinaigting ng Philippine National Police ang paghahanda laban sa posibleng pagdaloy ng lahar at iba pang panganib sa kaligtasan ng publiko malapit sa Mayon Volcano dahil sa banta ng malakas na ulan mula sa Tropical Depression Caloy.
Nauna nang nagbabala ang Office of Civil Defense tungkol sa posibleng pagdaloy ng lahar dahil sa banta ng bagyong Caloy, na pumasok sa Philippine Area of Responsibility nito lamang Sabado ng gabi.
Batay sa lahat ng available na datos, tinatayang nasa layong 770 kilometro silangan ng Surigao City ang sentro ng Tropical Depression Caloy hanggang 1100 ng umaga.
Ayon kay Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, inilagay na sa standby ang mga yunit ng pulisya sa Bicol Region para sa evacuation support at road-clearing operations katuwang ang mga lokal na pamahalaan at disaster risk reduction offices, alinsunod sa direktiba nina President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

We are prioritizing the safety of residents and ensuring access routes remain passable for emergency response. “The PNP urges the public to follow the advisories and instructions of authorities for their own safety.
