Ormoc City – Pormal na binuksan ng Ormoc City Police Office ang Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Course sa OCPO Grounds, Camp Downes, Ormoc City nito lamang Lunes, Disyembre 12, 2022.
Ang programa ay pinangunahan ni Police Brigadier General Rommel Marbil, Regional Director ng PRO 8, na kinatawan ni Police Brigadier General Joel Barbon Limson, DRDA, bilang natatanging panauhin kasama si Police Colonel Glenn Oliver Cinco, Acting Chief RLDDD8 at Police Lieutenant Colonel Ernesto R Macasil, Training Manager, RSTU8.
Ang mga kalahok ay binubuo ng 40 na personnel mula sa Ormoc City Police Office at 12 mula sa Leyte Provincial Police Office na may kabuuang 52 malakas at aktibong kalahok sa SWAT Course.
Ang mga trainees ay sasailalim sa 65 araw na pagsasanay sa ilalim ng direktang pangangasiwa ng 6 na training staff mula sa OCPO at 4 pa na magmumula sa NCRPO sa pangunguna ni Police Major Rizal Antonio Leung III, Course Coordinator, na may pangkalahatang pangangasiwa ni Police Colonel Nelvin Ricohermoso, Course Director.
Nagtapos ang seremonya sa PNP Reception Rites sa 52 aspiring participants na isinagawa ng SWAT Training Staffs ng OCPO at NCRPO.
Dumalo rin sina Congressman Richard I. Gomez, Leyte 4th District Representative, SP Member Hon. Goito Yraztorza III.
Sa mensahe ni Congressman Gomez. “We will continue to bring out what is best for Ormoc City. To the members of this elite group (SWAT), continue to become better all the time and God bless!”
Mensahe naman ni PCol Rocohermoso, “We will sustain and continue to pursue that Ormoc City will always be a safer place to live and do business”.
