Butuan City – Tinatayang nasa Php430,000 halaga ng ilegal na troso ang nakumpisa sa isinagawang Checkpoint Operation ng Butuan City Mobile Force Company na humantong sa pagkaaresto ng dalawang suspek nito lamang Miyerkules, Hunyo 15, 2022.
Kinilala ni Police Colonel Excelso Llazaga Jr, City Director ng Butuan City Police Office, ang dalawang nadakip na sina Neil Bryan Batucan, 27, at Arniel Batucan, 25, na pawang residente ng Purok-18, Mesaoy, New Corella, Davao de Oro at kinilala ang nakatakas na si Erwin Dupalco, 35, residente ng Purok Tambis, Brgy. Afga, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Ayon kay PCol Llazada, bandang 6:30 ng umaga nang parahin ng pulisya ang isang kahinahinalang truck o Wing Van na may Plate No. AWA 3260 sa isang Checkpoint sa Barangay Ampayon, Butuan City kung saan lumantad ang daan-daang troso.
Matapos na walang maipakitang dokumento ang mga suspek, kinumpiska sa kanila ang 366 piraso ng troso na may sukat na 12,359.13 board feet na may tinatayang halaga na Php432,569.55.
Mahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Presidential Decree No. 705 o Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines (Cutting, gathering and/or collecting timber or other products without license. Unlawful occupation or destruction of forest lands).

We do not allow that these illegal loggers will continue to destroy our beautiful forests especially here in Butuan.
