Ayon kay Rep. Fernandez at Rep. Barbers, ang naturang pag-aresto sa mga tiwaling pulis at ang pag-relieve ng immediate superior ng mga ito ay patunay sa hangarin ng PNP tungo sa pagkakaroon ng police reforms at ang pagpapanatili ng internal accountability sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

“This is exactly the kind of action the public has long demanded. Rogue police officers are not just being relieved. They’re being sent to jail,” saad ni Rep. Fernandez.

“Gen. Marbil’s decision to relieve the EPD director and the entire DSOU reflects a no-nonsense application of command responsibility,” dagdag pa niya.

“This is the kind of institutional response we need. Swift, direct, and with no excuses,” saad naman ni Rep. Barbers.

Matatandaang naaresto ang walong tauhan ng District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) ng EPD, kung saan anim sa mga ito ay Police Staff Sergeant, at tig-iisang Police Corporal at Patrolman, gabi ng April 5.

Agad silang dinala sa Las Piñas Prosecutor’s Office para sa inquest proceedings. Samantala patuloy pang pinaghahanap ng mga awtoridad ang isang Police Major na kasamahan din ng grupo at pang-siyam na suspek.

Kasunod ng pag-relieve sa EPD Director, iniutos din ni PGen Marbil sa PNP Internal Affairs Service at ng National Capital Region Police Office ang pagkakaroon ng full at impartial investigation kaugnay sa naturang krimen.

Dagdag pa ni CPNP Marbil na wala aniyang ibibigay na pangalawang pagkakataon para sa mga pulis na tiwali at umaabuso sa kanilang mga tungkulin.
