Pormal nang binuksan ng Police Regional Office (PRO)13 ang ikalawang RD’s Cup: “THE PBGEN NAZARRO L.I.G.T.A.S. Caraga Proficiency Shootfest” na ginanap sa Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City nito lamang Nobyembre 21, 2024.
Pinangunahan ni Police Brigadier General Alan M Nazarro, PRO 13 Director, ang pagbubukas ng tatlong-araw na shootfest, katuwang ang Butuan Hunters 1911 A1 Gun Club Inc., at iba pang miyembro ng Command Group, Regional at Personal Staff, mga Certified Range Officers ng United States Practical Shooting Association National Range Officers Institute, at mga kalahok mula sa hanay ng PNP at mga sibilyang mahilig sa baril.
Kabilang sa mga pangunahing aktibidad ng programa ang “Oath of Sportsmanship” na pinangunahan ni Police Colonel Restituto Lacano Jr., Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations; ang “Safety Orientation” na ibinahagi ni G. Rosendo Mario A. Napigkit, PPSA Area Director – Area 10 Northern Mindanao at International Range Officer Association (IROA) Range Master; at ang “Ceremonial Shoot” na pinangunahan ni PBGen Nazarro.
Ang kompetisyon ay binubuo ng walong yugto na may 193 minimum rounds bawat isa para sa handgun, pistol caliber carbine, at mini-rifle category sa ilalim ng Level 2 Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) Sanctioned Match.
“This shootfest is a vital part of our mission to continuously enhance the skills and readiness of our police officers here in Caraga, ensuring we are well-prepared to serve and protect our communities. In addition, it strengthens the bonds of camaraderie and mutual respect between law enforcement and responsible gun owners,” ani RD Nazarro.
