South African National, nasakote sa Php35M halaga ng shabu ng PNP AVSEGROUP

Nasakote ang isang babaeng South African National at nakulimbat ng mga awtoridad ang tinatayang mahigit Php35 milyong halaga ng shabu sa Arrival Area ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, Pasay City nito lamang Martes, Agosto 13, 2024.

Kinilala ni Police Brigadier General Christopher N Abrahano, Director ng PNP Aviation Security Group, ang isang 25 anyos na babae na isang South African National, ay sakay ng Etihad Airways flight EY 424 mula Abu Dhabi.

Nakita sa routine X-ray screening ang kahina-hinalang imahe at sa tulong ng Narcotics Detection Dog ay nakumpirma ang presensya ng ilegal na droga. 

Tumambad sa mga awtoridad ang isang transparent plastic bag na naglalaman ng 5.265 kilo ng shabu na tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng Php35,802,000, African passport, boarding pass, cellular phone, at personal na mga gamit ng suspek na nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Section 5 ng Republic Act 9165, o “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.

Naging matagumpay ang operasyon sa pagsisikap ng mga operatiba ng PNP Aviation Security Group, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), Bureau of Customs, at Narcotics Detection Dog (NDD) mula sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

“This operation highlights the relentless commitment of the PNP AVSEGROUP, along with other law enforcement agencies and airport authorities, to being prepared, to prevent and respond to any attempts of illegal drug smuggling through the country’s airports,” pahayag ni PBGen Abrahano.
