Aprubado na ng National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) ang promosyon ng mahigit 27,000 tauhan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na nasa ranggong Police Corporal hanggang Police Lieutenant Colonel.
Ayon kay NAPOLCOM Vice Chairman and Executive Officer Vitaliano Aguirre II, inaprubahan ng NAPOLCOM en banc ang Resolution No. 2021-1218 na may petsang Setyembre 24, 2021, na magbibigay ng authority sa PNP Chief na punan ang 27,460 promotional vacancies.
Ang promosyon ay naglalayong maiwasan ang congestion sa ranggong Patrolman at Patrolwoman.
Kaugnay nito, inatasan na ni PNP Chief, PGen Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar ang iba’t ibang opisina ng PNP na umpisahan na ang proseso ng promosyon.
“As chief of the police force, I guarantee that the PNP Promotion Board, together with the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management and other concerned units, will ensure transparency and fairness and will strictly observe the guidelines in the promotion process,” wika ni PGen Eleazar said.
Dagdag pa ng hepe, mahalaga ang promosyon para sa pag-unlad ng karera ng bawat pulis sa organisasyon. “This will also develop the efficiency of the entire team PNP in performing its mandate and not just in their individual capacity as PNP personnel.”
Pinayagan ng NAPOLCOM na punan ang bakanteng 1000 para sa Lieutenant Colonel (PLTCOL); 720 na Police Major (PMAJ); 980 na Police Captain (PCPT); 320 na Police Lieutenant (PLT); 2,780 na Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS); 4,140 na Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS); 5,980 na Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS); 5,570 na Police Master Sergeant (PMSg); 2,640 na Police Staff Sergeant (PSSg); at 3,330 na Police Corporal (PCpl).
